Vessel Energy Profiling based on IoT

Overview

The aim of the project is the development of an integrated system for the measurement, recording, and analysis, in real-time, of the energy footprint of ship operations. The system will continuously record those parameters which, with the appropriate analysis, will capture the energy efficiency of all the ship's energy-intensive systems in the various operating conditions. The results of the project will be integrated into the innovative platform of METIS that aims to be recognized in the world market as the most successful example of the application of the technologies of the 4th industrial revolution that will contribute catalytically to the transition from traditional shipping to the Digital Management of commercial fleets.

Contribution

CSL is responsible for the implementation of a digital twin mechanism that will enable testing the real on-board network with virtual/artificial sensor measurements, and for the implementation of a mechanism for the flexible deployment and execution of distributed processing pipelines on the vessel.
